Prevention & Screening  Breast Self-Exam


The American Cancer Society recommends that women begin Breast Self Examination (BSE) in their twenties. Regular self-examinations will familiarize young women with the look and feel of their normal breasts, and allow them to bring any changes to the attention of their physician.

In the following animation Karen Schmidt, Director of the Breast Screening Health Partnership (CPMC) demonstrates the proper way to perform BSE.
